Send EmailThe PostPro SFX is a cutting-edge desktop vapor smoothing system specifically designed for polymer-based 3D printed parts. It uses green chemistry principles to transform raw, layer-lined components into high-quality, professionally finished goods.
The PostPro SFX is a revolutionary desktop vapor smoothing device developed for post-processing 3D printed parts. Developed by AMT (Additive Manufacturing Technologies), this compact machine uses cutting-edge green chemistry, notably PostPro Pure, to improve the surface finish, seal, and mechanical qualities of additively manufactured components. The technique is especially effective with engineering polymers, particularly Polyamide 12 (PA12), however efforts are underway to broaden its material compatibility.
The PostPro SFX has an automated recipe system for consistent output and operates quietly without emitting scents, making it appropriate for a variety of work locations. With an average processing time of 90-120 minutes per batch, it is an effective solution for small-scale production and R&D. It supports many 3D printing technologies, including SLS, MJF, HSS, and FDM/FFF, making it adaptable to a variety of manufacturing requirements.
Technical data:
Processing Chamber: 190 x 320 x 190 mm
Processing Chamber Volume: 11.5 liters
Compatible Technologies: MJF, SLS, HSS & SAF™
Compatible Materials: Nylon 12 (other nylon based composites and elastomers in development)
The PostPro SFX has a small footprint of only 450 x 500 x 845mm, making it suited for office settings and smaller workstations. Despite its small size, the system produces industry-leading surface quality for 3D printed objects, with a processing chamber volume of 11.5 liters. This combination of compactness and performance enables users to achieve professional-level smoothing results without the use of large industrial equipment.
The PostPro SFX features AMT's cutting-edge green chemistry, PostPro Pure. This ecologically friendly solvent provides safe and efficient processing while producing high-quality vapor-smoothed surface finishes. The use of sustainable chemistry not only decreases the impact on the environment, but also allows the system to be used in a variety of work situations because it emits no odor.
The PostPro SFX supports a variety of 3D printing methods, including SLS, MJF, HSS and SAF™. This versatility enables users to process parts created using a variety of additive manufacturing technologies, making it an invaluable tool for a wide range of production demands. Currently, the technology is optimized for Polyamide 12 (PA12) materials, with further work underway to broaden compatibility to other materials, including elastomers such as TPU and TPE13.
The PostPro SFX's vapor smoothing process improves both the visual look and functional characteristics of parts. It effectively lowers surface roughness, protects the surface from liquids, and increases mechanical properties including elongation at break and tensile strength. With its dual benefit of better aesthetics and functionality, the PostPro SFX is an important tool for manufacturing end-use components and prototypes with injection molding-like surface quality.
The PostPro SFX has an automated recipe system and an easy-to-use interface, which streamlines the vapor smoothing process and ensures consistent results. Users can quickly enter part specifications and processing parameters, with processing times ranging from 90 to 120 minutes each batch. This automation and ease of use make the system accessible to operators with diverse degrees of experience, delivering consistent and reproducible results throughout multiple production runs.
