Proteo is one of the first companies to successfully apply 3D printing, CAD modeling and 3D scanning to lower limb prostheses. The DuoSocket prosthesis marks the next stage in the development of the company's products, with which Proteo aims to revolutionize the manufacture of prostheses worldwide. Proteo's DuoSocket prosthesis was manufactured using 3D printing technology and consisted of two layers: an inner TPU shell and an outer PA12 layer. Despite the flexible properties of TPU, the rough 3D printed surface was too uncomfortable for the patient and would also serve as the perfect breeding ground for bacteria if the patient were to sweat too much in contact with the prosthesis. Find out how AMT's post-processing solutions were able to solve this problem in this use case!
